Hello, I started my practicum in leadership and management, and I am looking for some ideas.
I will appreciate any ideas, thank you in advance.
Are you working somewhere? see what projects are underway in your community, try local state nurses associations to see what they are working on and perhaps team up.
Hello, I would suggest starting with your local county health department. Many public health agencies are needing to expand with healthcare reform and they may have opportunities for Grad students to participate. If you are working in an organization, check with your director or CNO/CNE. They may have suggestions and can help faciliate some contacts.. If you have a LinkedIn account, send a message to your contacts. You have to be proactive in your search. Good luck.
Hi everybody.

Thanks.
How about looking back at some of the classes you attended and take some ideas from there. Use your imagination for this project. Think about changes you would like to initiate at the organization that employs you. Show some initiative. It's disconcerting that a graduate level student needs help deciding what her/his final project will be.

I got my MSN from UoP as well. My practicum was teaching a class at the local college to nursing students. Think of a topic you are passionate about and then approach the director of the nursing program. The time you take to develop the objectives, research, course content, pre and post tests and observing instructors will take up an easy 40 hours. I did mine over a period of about 6 weeks with the guidance of my mentor.
Students can sense when you don't care about or are not prepared to teach a topic. This is why it is important to do something you are passionate about.
Good luck!
I do not think we should ever put people down for having a thinking block. Sometimes all it takes is one suggestion and a person is off and running with many wonderful ideas. We should never make anyone feel badly for asking a question.

CardiologyRN56- I couldn't agree more with you. Nursing seems to have this bad habit, ill breeding, ignorantly raised that they feel the need to cut others down. Nursing can't seem to relate to anyone whose not laying flat on their back in bed and dressed in a patient gown with their backside flapping in the breeze. I guess that outfit makes them less threatening.
