I worked for Mollen Immunizations Clinics in 2009 during the H1N1, I has 2 other positions at that time.Employment opportunities for us older nurses were very slim as was the new grad oportunities at that time. I was also having a difficult time getting shifts with a nursing agency and a per deim hospital. An got a part time position with a LTC facility. Mollen was a god send. I loved my experience with them. I picked only clinics in very rural areas- it was my choice because it was a beautiful drive and I wanted to get away for the crowded city areas. The pay is low. But I always had a positve experience.
There were clinics where we had patients lined up, out to the door- stood up for hours amonst the Christmas decorations in Wal mart. When Mollen finally got the H1N1 vaccine- it was a mad house.

The nurse I worked with were either oldies like myself or brand new grads. The nursing unemployables. Some of them drove 2-3 hrs like I did just to do the clinic.

    The paperwork is confusing.

This will be my second season with Mollen and I absolutely enjoy it! Once you get past the paperwork, it is good. I work alone at the Walmart clincs and have been able to work 5 or more days a week. As for liability insurance, I am not aware of any.

Smile How many hours is training and how much do you get paid for it???

I was offered a job and faxed my paperwork this week. I called today and they said it would be another week and a half before the training was available online. How many hours is it and do you get paid? And how far in advance do they let you schedule shifts when you can start scheduling? Any help from previous employees would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Angry Mollin Immunization Clinic- Disorganized Mad House, very unprofessional

I've worked for them. Very disorganized, HR is unprofessional, training is a joke, and no shifts available after they hire you! This company is a joke, also how they train us to lie and claim there is no mercury in the vaccines! Not only that, but how they double bill both the participants and the emplloyers! Corrupt Practices

Hello. Some years ago I worked several shifts for a Nursing Staffing Company and it was easy work. Most of the paper work was done by the patients themselves and checked by the nurse who gave the shots. Most were for medicare/medicaid and so were "free" to the patient.

It was very pleasant work and one can sit on a desk/table and have the patient sit aside. If in a wheel chair, I would then go to the patient. And we were busy all the time. Pt teaching is also important, as some pt might experience side effects. Important to make aware.

Thank you for all the information. I am a new grad and have found it difficult to find a job. There are no new grad positions available. I applied to Mollen and was hired within 1 hour of submitting my application. I was leary of accepting this position but feel better now that I have read the responses and looked up some information on them. I feel this will be a valuable learning experience and if anything will add to the resume.

Would you be able to let me know what their pay rate is? I am thinking about doing this since our hospital has been slow lately and getting cancelled a lot. Thanks.

    Hello,
I just finished my training and I agree that it is a joke. Now with the new "notebook" to do all the paperwork, I think they may be
in trouble. I know that I am not that computer literate but I am very afraid of manning the clinic myself. The administration of the shots does not worry me at all. If you cannot work all that paperwork in a timely manner, people will get upset. That will hurt your customer satisfaction from the start.

Is anyone else worried about using the notebook? I called HR and asked if there was anyone that could job shadow for at least one day. They said to just download the information and go over it.

I need a job, but I'm really afraid of handling a clinic by myself.

I started with them straight out of nrsg school. You will be fine. If there's anything u feel that u may forget, print it off of your training module. Very laid back

I worked for Mollen last year, that was my first year and was overwhelmed with the paper work initially but once I faced it and got through my first day, I had a handle on it. I ended up enjjoying it and was a good job but I will go negative for now only to share that part of it. I am going to give the Notebook a chance, but after the paperwork, it's new to me and very odd, training sparse and short, just like someone said on here earlier that "giving the flu shot was the easiest" of all. My issues's last year was with insurances, and dealing with disgruntled customer's who could not understand why their insurance was not listed and would not cover it. I live in an area that does not support a lot of them. I did not have those answers. I called Mollen and they just told me those Insurance company's wouldn't sign up for approval. Now they offer the bonus for X amount of shot's and I can not give them because the huge 2 insurances in my area will not pay for Mollen. So I probably will never get a bonus but who can blame a patient for going where they don't have to pay? Second HUGE issue in my experience is the amount of people who don't know who their primary insurance carrier is. That was confusing for them and me as well. Next problem is with this Notebook coming out, is a lot of the elderly do not have credit or debit cards! If they have Medicare and it is their primary they have nothing to put on the Notebook to say, they don't have that. Also I can imagine that they will not understand to not write a check if paying by check but type in the notebook. If they say no then can we take a check? That was never addressed on the training. I have found that the pharmacy staff has been very good but they are so busy and to ask them to check the temp of the frig and freezer and do all these count's of vaccine's will be difficult. They barely had time to open the door for me when I would close my clinic.
I am trying it again as I think it is worth it for me personally but disappointed about the decrease in salary as many I shot's I could have given, I could not due to insurance coverage.
As far as the schedule goes, keep checking, people will take a lot of shifts and when it get's closer will give them up. That's how I got many shift's last year.

    Unhappy

I am new with Mollen. I finished the training right away and I am overwhelmed. As soon as I got the email that the sched is up, I chose my schedules right away. I got 6. Then I figured I can change the range of dates (I only searched 'til the end of Sept). I tried changing to December, it was showing schedules for places that are 4 hours away from me. I think my account was messed up. I have clinics for 2 different cities but those places are not in my "team". I called Mollen the next days. It took 18 minutes of waiting before I got to speak to someone. She told me I am so lucky I got 6 schedules as being new hire. Others didn't get schedules at all. She thinks I was complaining about more schedules but my concern was I belong to a different team. Them I have other questions that she is not sure of her answer. Calling to them is like calling the Immigration. I remember reading from the training to call them if there's a problem at the clinic, and I was thinking: and this is how long it's gonna be? Anyway, I am very nervous about my first day. The forms seems complicated to me. I wish there's another person that I will work with.
