Smile RN Wants To Start A Flu Shot Clinic Business

Hello...I am a CA R.N. who wants to start a business running flu shot clinics for businesses and the general public but I don't know where to start. Can anyone steer me in the right direction as to where to get the info I need (legalities, licenses needed, MD oversight, etc) so that I can turn my idea into a reality? Any help would be great appreciated...Thank you.

I would reach out to your State's Board of Nursing. They should have information for you on how to get started or where to go to get started. You can view a list of State Board of Nursing contact information here: http://ce.nurse.com/RStateReqmnt.aspx

    Good luck!

Have you ever heard of Mollen Immunization Clinics? They're now supplying nurses with serum and materials so that they can set up their own clinics (read: build their own business) and work for themselves. The nurses are independent contractors. They've partnered with an insurance group called CM&F and malpractice/liability insurance is usually $100 a year or less. They also do not charge you for the inventory- so you really are only just paying for your phone bill and your internet bill to market yourself. You're already licensed as a professional, you don't need an LLC, and you can get insurance on the cheap. What other great way to test the waters of having your own immunization business? Check it out, Google: Mollen Community Care Nurse Network

It is a good idea but, biggest obstacle is billing. Most injections like this have been taken over by the pharmacies as they already have billing contracts with insurances.
