Cool How to sign my name

I was wondering, I know it is a corny question but I will be an RN next month. We all know how hard we work to get this far and how important it is to us all, but my question is, I know at work you sign your name with an RN after it but when you are signing stuff in your every day life example (checks and things of that nature) do you or can you sign with the RN after it or is that just too much? Just curious.

JUST TOO MUCH! Do you seriously think your doctor or lawyer signs his non business Checks and things of that nature with an MD or Esquire?
Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan famously said, "Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts."

That's not a silly question! However, I agree...I would leave it to just putting RN after your name only on medical or work related documents. You should consider getting a signature name stamp though...fits right in your pocket and saves lots of time. Look for holmesstamp dot com and do a search for 'nurse'. They have two styles.

hi, girl, been a Rn for five years, ive never signed like that. i think its an achievement, not apart of your name, so for anything official other than work, i dont think it would be appropriate. good question and congrats

I have been a nurse for 16 years... almost every other day, I sign my name and add my credentials behind it out of habit. There is no right or wrong, it is an achievement, I agree!! Congratulations!

It's funny, but sometimes I would catch myself writing my credentials on a check or a document. It happens and will happen to you, but you shouldn't write RN on any official document other than the hospital's.
