    Default NYSNA Elections

Elections for the board of the New York State Nurses Association are starting next week. Sadly, usually only about 6% of the 36,000 members vote.

I'm supporting this slate at nynurseselection.com and am wondering what can be done to motivate more nurses to participate.

Is it a waste of time? Hopeless?

    Suggestions appreciated

    Default NYSNA BOD Elections

    Dear JuliaRN,

Like you, I don't know how we can get NYSNA members to take advantage of their right to vote, but I do know that we can never give up trying. Our efforts would be worth it, even if we get 10 more RN to vote.

All we can do at this point is continue educating our peers on the issues and their rights. Ultimately, it's up to them. The sad reality is that if they decide to remain passive and not get involved, then they forfiet their right to complain and this may sound callous, but they may deserve what they get or don't get.

    NYSNA REGISTERED NURSES:
BE HEARD AND BE PROACTIVE BY VOTING! BE SURE TO VOTE FOR THOSE ADVOCATES THAT WILL FIGHT FOR CHANGE AND FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE MEMBERS. IT'S UP TO YOU!!!
