Just made an amazing apple crumble last night. the trick...adding rice crispies to the crumble topping. It added a nice crisp crunch that I think a crumble topping needs. Next time you make any type of crumble give it a shot. You will love it!

Great tip.
LOL, After Christmas, I swore I would knock off making pies--except my quiche--I mean that's really a kind of pie. (Trying to justify it b/c of the added protein.)![]()
So someone asked me to make some pies again and my cheese cake. I am seriously avoiding the cheese cake as long as I can. (Not that I'd get much of it anyway.)
Ah it makes it tough to stay on the health kick.![]()

Thanks a lot.
Apple crumble is my favorite desert.Good idea to add rice crispies to the topping.
mmm that does sound delicious! I usually just make the top of my crumble out of oats - coated in butter and brown sugar, they crisp up nicely as well!
For my sweet potato casserole for thanksgiving and christmas I replaced the sugary marshmallow topping with a lower cal/sugar topping: cinnamon cornflakes. It was actually delicious and much healthier! It added great flavor to it! Definitely suggest giving it a try!
Apple crumble is my favorite desert too
