The Seasoned Nurse
How about,..."Veterans in Nursing" ? Or, "Gray Caps" ? Something pleasant and distinguished, like

jose7070: Perhaps if you could communicate your issue more clearly you would get a response. I'm not sure what it is you are trying to say.
Interviewer: "Why are there no left-handed catchers, Yogi?"
Yogi Berra: "That's just the way it is, 'cause that's the way it's been."
How much of a dinosaur do you have to be?
I do hope the younger nurses will look in, because boy, did I learn some lessons. I'll never be used up. How about "Grey But Sure". Blessings to all of us.
Aged to Perfection
I don't have an idea for a name but am very interested in hearing what other nurses ( over 50?) are doing. I have been out of nursing for about 18 years, raising a family. I have kept my license up (RN) but feel very timid about getting back into a nursing job (scared to death actually) but would really like and need to start working again at least part time. Are there opportunitese out there for the older nurse?
older nurses in this country reflect the attitude of the old in this country.. old and in the way.
I recently went out of retirement becuse I lost everything.. had to sell my home to live on the money.. Then I was accepted at St. Joe's ,Peace health in Whatcom county Bellingham Wa.. I was a bit apprehensive about starting on medical floor again but since I have 40+ years of nursing and a strong base of knowledge i accepted.. Then when I was in the cafiteria I was approached by another nurse who saw my new badge and said" look out' Then another nurse from that floor said Obama was an Arab terrorist.. At my age I accept that people have different political viewpoints and even welcome opposing views this was different .It was racist in nature and inapproporiate in the workplace. I felt intimidated by it.. Then I was there for 2 weeks, had not even gone on the floor but a few times when I was told I was" not a good fit' . So that is that. Now I had a meeting with HR and told then what I thought, She opend up a case for me even thoguh I was new. I will meet with head management to give my side of the story. It is stressful but we must not I repeat must not, slink away, no matter what. We own it to the younger nurses to help change to face of nursing..
How about Seasoned Nurses?
I do not like all the out to pasture stuff since we are still working and are the EXPERIENCED NURSES that are educating the younger ones and the doctors are looking for US
