Default Do I have any options???

I just failed the first class of my second year in an associates nursing program in IL. I do not know what to do or what my options really are. Can I get my LPN? I have no idea and really feel lost. I want to still pursue my career as a nurse. I did not fail by much. In my program if you fail two tests you are out......I have a B in the class but failed two tests by 1 point!!!!! I am so frustrated and disappointed. PLEASE HELP!!!

I wish I had an answer for you. Did they kick you out? Maybe you could just aply to another nursing school. Good Luck. I graduated 20yrs ago so I am really not sure how things work these days

Do you have an academic advisor at your school? Check with them, and write all your questions down and have them with you when you go, so you don't forget anything. Failing two tests at one point each may fit their criteria for failing the course, but it doesn't sound like such a spectacular screw-up to me; maybe they have a way you can get back in, so ask. If not, then the LPN course sounds like the way to get your foot in the door.

    Good luck.

have to agree with poliopilot i would take with an academic advisor that sounds a little off if you ask me. I know I can see a class but test??
Depending on how far you were in your classes you could sit for your LPN boards I would also ask your academic advisor. Also you could try to contact the state nursing board and see what their criteria is for sitting in for an LPN.

    hope this helps

Wow, that is extremely harsh, you passed the class with a B. What more do they want? I would definately take this matter up with an academic advisor and work your way up to the college president if you have to. Something about that has "stink" all over it. Good Luck, let us know what happens, K?
