congress and baseball????

could somebody please explain to me why our tax dollars are going to pay for a congrssional investigation into whether or not baseball players are taking steroids?It seems to me that there are so many other more important things our members of congress could be doing with their time,We do have a baseball commission and isn't this something that they should be handling?Maybe we culd get the baseball commission to start running the country since congress is busy with the steroid problem?
