Hello- I am new to this board, although I signed up a long time ago. I graduate this coming July from Nursing School with my RN diploma. Now is the time to begin job searching. My problem is, although I know where I would really really like to work, it is a smaller hospital that since I am graduating in July, my interview is in March. I have an interview coming up next Monday at the hospital that I am going to school at, which I really don't want to work because it is too far of a drive. The following week, I have an interview set up in another hospital because, it is a excellent hospital, but still not my preferred choice. The delemia is, what if I get offered a position? What if I get offered a position at the hospital I go to school to- before my interviews elsewhere? (My friend had her interview Tuesday, and today - Wednesday- she was told she had the job.....
Basically- I'm confident, but not super confident and kind of pessamistic (go figure...) my worry is, if I wait till March for my interview at my hospital of choice, I will not get in... Since I will not be starting till the end of July, beginning of August... if say I get offered a job this coming Tuesday at the hospital I am at now, A. how long can I wait to say... "o.k" B. if I say "o.k." how horrible, or what can they do to me, if in... March, I call back up and say, "the position I accepted I no longer want" Like... I'm just so confused- I want to make sure I have a job, but I don't want to be stuck into the first thing I am offered.
Please help.
