I heard this on the way to work this AM. How low can you go? Is this any different than selling organs? I hope the networks think twice before this is allowed to air.

Speechless!
Agree with Paula-I am almost speechless. I can understand the desperation that must be involved here-but not the exploitation.
Agreed, and I forgot to mention. There are three "contestants". It makes me ill.
What channel is airing the show? Is the an address we could write to protest or to boycott sponsors?
This is worse than the "Whose my Daddy" show they were going to air a couple of years ago. Viewers shut that down before it got on the air.
Here's a link I found.

Well, we can't do anything with a protest. It's a Dutch show......but it's a new low! Thanks for the link, Gracie
The above link isn't any good, sorry. Should have tried it first. Try this one, I was just on it.

This is beyond sick!!! What are they going to give the runners up? "So sorry the contestant has not picked you, Good luck with the dialysis" as "So You Had A Bad Day" is played in the background.
LOL Call-a-code! An American Idol fan I see.
The 2nd link didn't work for me but the first one did, like they said in the article, nobody even knows if the donor will be compatible with the winner or if the transplant would spread the donors ca to the "winner".Wouldn't that be ironic--got the kidney I needed and some brain cancer I didn't need--I think this is just a publicity stunt to point out how bad we need organ donors.
I had been listed as a donor on my drivers license for years,HIV stopped that for me but I urge everyone that can donate to do it
Yeah, this is pretty sick... And why would a terminally ill patient be considered to donate in the first place?
On MSNBC right now, Lisa a terminally ill donor will pick the kidney donation winner on live TV. Advocates state this show will promote awareness of the need for organ donation. This is to air on Friday. Protesting this new level of "gaming" are a group of doctors. There are no laws which prohibit this type of activity currently. Do you think this is moral and/or ethical? ************************************************** ********************************* I just posted this because I am appalled! One of the commentators to the story I just heard a partial report of states this should have aptly been called "The New Survivor". Is there no limit to the exploitation of those who suffer such great misfortunes? Sometimes, I think that nothing can "shock" me any longer. Sure enough, something does come along which does such as this.
Weird - - Aside from the obvious, I thought cancer was a definite rule-out for donors. This all reeks of pure sensationalism, but I understand that there is a major issue with getting people to donate over there, and they are trying to bring the issue to light.
