Wow NM. Sorry you ended up having a bad day. Sun, rain, sleet, and snow...of such is the stuff life is made. Hope tomorrow is better. You are strong. You can get through anything. After all, you're a mom.

Thanks Edson. In the grand scheme of things, this is all relatively minor. Just alot in the last 10 days and my neck is pretty sore. Tomorrow is a new day and as I also recite to myself, this too shall pass. Overall I am truly blessed with a great family, job and friends.

Being an adult is definitely not all that it is cracked up to be! I am glad that you are relativiely OK after your accident. You will probably be more sore tomorrow and the next day; just take Advil or Motrin as needed.

Great job on ACLS! Just think, you don't have to worry about that nonsense for another 2 years!

Yes...cervical trauma from whiplash does hurt. If you need to see the doctor, go and get checked and get a muscle relaxer and pain meds as necessary before it gets too bad. When that energy goes through you neck, it can do some damage--at least in terms of mobility and pain. I'll say a prayer that you heal quickly. And take it easy at work--as much as possible.

Okay ,just need to vent. Day started off great. Took ACLS for first time. The 12 hour class only lasted 6. I passed with an 88%. Got to go home early. Hubby got home early. Get 10 minutes from home and stop for a car to turn in the pouring rain and got rear ended by a 16 year kid. Neck is stiff and sore but otherwise okay. Nice headache too. Also got some vague news regarding sinkhole. Apparently claim is sizable and being processed very quickly. Checks already written out. Whatever that means. Supposed to call back on Friday afternoon for full details. Also working 58 hours this week. Getting critical staffing pay due to short staffing. Oh and lest I forget, Alison recovering from a severe sinus infection. On Augmentin. Last week was &&^%$$(! This week not much better. LOL! Can't believe I grew up so desperately wanting to be an adult.

Things can only go up!! Agree, take it easy for a few days - Edson, if I took a muscle relaxer I'd be 'relaxed' (out cold) for 2 days - how would the kids cope by themselves! LOL

Be careful working that much - not good for your immunce system. My neighbor had bad sinus inf. too. Was put on Augmentin also - something in the air!!!

Good news about ACLS - I don't know why I always dreaded that class - but it did tend to get a little less stressful of late. Glad that's behind you now.

Great job on the ACLS. It does seem that sinus infections are rampant right now. I agree that you should be careful about how much you are working-it sets you up for all kinds of stress related problems.

Nursemommy, sorry to hear about your day in general, but delighted about your ACLS score. Don't overdo, but, for heaven's sake, don't restrict your movements too much or the stiffness will be worse. ITA about work and your immune system, big time.

Not that anyone needed it, but, you now have more proof that teenagers can be a royal pain in the neck (groan!)

Sounds like one of those times when ya really wonder if it's worth getting out of bed at all.
....at least ya can feel relatively safe in bed....

Pay attention to that neck.
If you can, have an x-ray....please.
I'd rather not get into why I say that now.

Congrats on the ACLS and in spite of potential exhaustion, sometimes work does take our minds off these scenarios.

Fingers and toes crossed that this nasty time period will run its course quickly.

You passed ACLS with a great score ! Good for you !. Sorry about your neck & Allison's illness. Try to take it easy. I hate it when they pressure you into more hours than you can handle without falling apart physically. Like you said, "This ,too, shall pass."--one of my favorite sayings.
