I just Have to comment.....and say "Welcome Back"! So Lovely!
Shhhh....don't break the spell...it's like not saying the Q word!
Okie Dokey, but it remains. I Love It!
Well, did people just come for the drama? Not much activity lately.
Don't know Paula. Could make a person wonder. Maybe vacations? People are getting ready for school to start too. It's been a long siege of brutally hot/humid and stormy weather here, and it has been wearing on souls. School already started here. Can you believe it, pools are now closed. It's 1830 and head index is 104. Crimeny!
I don't miss the personal attacks and insults that were prevalent with a certain poster. As for me, I still have periods of sorrow and don't want to bring it here.
I think it will pick up again myself.
I'm sure it will. Boredom is certainly preferable to some things, lol.
It is cool here, but the wind is really picking up, I am going to look up where Dean is headed.
hmmmmmmm I looked at the little tracking map and I thought, nah, it couldn't be causing our wind from down there in the bay. Then I looked at the satelite; that sucker is huge! Glad it is down to a Cat 1, guess it will pick up a little as it goes over the water?
Shaking my head. I am thankful I don't have to contend with hurricanes as you do. We do get our share of soupy tornadic activity. Had a doozy of a storm last night. Did a fair amount of damage around our fair city. More of it is on taps for tomorrow as well. As usual, what Texas gets, we usually get. Thanks for sharing!!! LOL
Sons wedding is next weekend, does that mean we will be in the hurricane aftermath then???? Sure hope not. Will have to buy a case of Mitchem deoderant and spread it All over!
Bored people are more than boring, as Dr. Phil says, I think they are dangerous as well. "Idle hands" you know.
Gracie, mabruk (Congrats) on your son's pending marriage. Paula- stay safe, hear?
Faith, thanks for the good wishes.
How about 80mph winds! We faired well, only blew down the basketball hoop and small branches. Some places still without electricity.
Hunker down Paula, prayers that the storm will veer off elsewhere.
I think the board always tends to quiet down after a period of such upheaval and drama. I think it's partly because some people have taken a break in disgust because of what was happening and do not realize the trouble is past. I think others are holding their breath hoping this newfound peace will last and that the troublemaker has really gone. And others are just so burnt from the nasty posts that they don't have the energy to get into "discussions" right away. (I feel that way).
I have seen this cycle before when other troublemakers were banned. The board quiets down but little by little it comes back to what it was.
Gracie, I'm sorry you are still feeling sad-I presume about your son's girlfriend and her horrific death? You should vent wherever you can and you know what a great place this can be for venting. I'm sure the upcoming wedding will be bittersweet for your son and your family, but remember that weddings are a celebration of life and put your grief aside that day as best you can and enjoy the day. Congratulations to the groom and his bride!
Paula, I think Dean was headed more westward but you may still get rain you don't need. Stay safe and I hope you weather the storm without damage.
Paula-stay safe.
Gracie-you've been through an awful experience-it will take time. Best wishes to your son and his almost wife and enjoy the wedding.
I agree with Peady that this is just a cyclical thing after upheavel. We're on our way back to normal.
Thanks Peady and Stella. Yes, you are correct. This wedding is proving to be bittersweet. However, a wedding we will have!
It seems son will not be home for wedding. His brother is hurt. I understand both sides. At the end of the day, my son should be here no ifs ands or buts. Mamma's viewpoint. The girlfriend was to be here as well, she was so excited to come and meet everyone.
Gracie, your family remains in my prayers.
I have never been in a hurricane and we are so far inland that this was the first time the actual storm was expected to reach us (we almost always get 'rain' from Gulf coast hurricanes). I am glad it is going to miss us.
I am feeling so sorry for people in Indiana, China ect who are being hit terribly hard by both natural and man-made disasters.
While we lost 6 miners and 3 rescue workers in that mine, China lost hundreds. In both, families are demanding the search go on, but is it right to risk more rescue workers when there is so little hope? Why were they operating mines in such dangerous places? My heart just hurts for everyone involved.
Did someone get banned? Geeze, I miss all the fun, lol.
Best to you Gracie.
Peds, I know, I know, I owe you an email... it's just so busy now with new people starting and others moving to other divisions. I'll connect with you this weekend.
Always nice to see you PaulaJo; and hello faith and stella too!
I'll try to pop in more now that I found out it's less horrific, lol!
