Most of my family prefer to walk, not run. Not a runner in the bunch.

There are four nurses in my family and one working towards nusing, but I'm the only one that runs. I try running 5 miles per day. Only icy weather keeps me home.

Knowing when and what to run from is a
    "Good Thing".

    Try now.

why did you decide to make your career as a nurse? any nurses that run in your family?

some people have been a nurse "too long" perhaps they should retire and not be spiteful of young & new nurses coming on board.

Yes, Cat there are several nurses and doctors in my family. I'm surprised I wasn't a vet though. I was the kid that took care of stray animals. I just liked helping people and admired the nurses I knew.

By the way, I'm new here and like your threads and posts. Don't let the sarcasm get to you. I agree with your last post too.

    hey Kitty,
Family of docs and nurses is very impressive
i am also new around 1 week here
i joined the forum to get more info in regards to nursing, perhaps i went into very controvercial topics, thats why it has raised some hell.
i am glad someone agrees with me, and even if noone would i still rather speak my mind and voice my opinion on topics as oppose to just follow the crowd

Dear Ms Cat3, if you write naive posts, you can expect the type of responses you received. Doubt I will "retire" because you are piqued. I'm not jealous of the "young and new" nurses.

    rocky,
you have a valid point, thanks, i was recommending for pawhite to retire because that person keeps writing stupid comments to me, so i was defending myself.

Glad to see ou here cat. It seems a litlle "catty" and clique-like here. Glad I've found a friend. It seems there's an older group of regulars that are totally disinterested in nursing topics on a nursing BB! I think there's some hostility to newcomers too. I'm being accused of being someone else. I joined yesterday and no one's welcomed me but you. I hope the moderators will intervene when needed.

Keep voicing your opnions and disregard the nasty responses-my guess is they'll just attack each other eventually anyway. There seems to be little tolerance here for differng opinions and younger, fresher thinkng.
