Hi...I have been an RN for 23 years. Almost all of my career has been in the area of the Surgery Department, although only a short while in the OR. Pre-Admission, Pre-Op, Post-Op, many years as manager and also as Director of a Surgery Center.
I'm not actively working as a nurse anymore b/c my husband and I will be doing long-term traveling, so I have a different business. But I still love "nurse talk" and as we know, once a nurse, always a nurse. I keep my license active, and am proud to have been a nurse for so long. So I hope to be able to stay connected to the nursing world through forums, even though I don't work as a nurse. So, hello to you all!

Hi Lorrie,
Welcome. So, what are you doing now and what interesting places have you been? There are always local clinics and indigent centers looking for volunteers even a few hours a month. Great way to keep a foot in clinical and transition into new communites.
