    Unhappy Very anxious nurse

    I've graduated from nursing school in 2009 I haven't worked as a nurse since I've got my LPN license when I start my job hunt what do I tell them when they ask me why I haven't I worked as a nurse I've been in the medical field for over 15 years what answer should I give them.

    the truth..you didn't say why you haven't been working but I'm sure you have a reason.
    Start doing some education, CEUs, conferences etc and flip to that...tell them what you HAVE been doing

    I agree with kdanilowicz. Brush up on your nursing skills, and let them know that in the interview (certificates, etc.). However, if you have personal reasons for not working in nursing that you choose not to share, I'd just give them a short, simple answer. Example: "I took some time off to care for a family member" or "I found it very difficult to find an LPN position". I worked in nursing management for five years and would have been perfectly content if a candidate gave me reasons like those. Good luck to you!

    I agree too! you have to tell the truth so your employer will know what to expect from you!

    There is no need to hesitate to speak truth, if there were some problem share it with them, they are also human being and i hope they will understand your problem but the main thing is that now you wanna work and obviously you will get the job if you fit for the position.
