I am a new member to the forum looking to gain some insight on starting a new career in the nursing field. I have a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and currently own and run a youth athletic program. I love working with kids and have always been interested in the health/medical field but have not pursued it. I have always been a "C" average student and had much greater success with hands on learning. As an adult, I have figured out how to be successful both in the books and the lab. At 38, 39 next month, I have decided to research and possibly pursue the career path I have always considered to be out of reach. Considering Pediatric Nurse or related career.
My main concern is how to get my foot in the door, begin schooling and earn a paycheck all at the same time. I am a husband and father of two so it is imperative I accomplish these goals. Any advice/guidance is greatly appreciated! ,)
First of all congratulations for finally walking the path that you really wanted. My advice is that you need to find a good school that can help you with your nursing degree while at the same time continue working to provide for your family. My best option for you is online nursing.
