Hello I am not sure this is the right place for my questions but I will try. I am thinking about getting RN certified. I am a 48 year old male with a bachelors degree in psychology. What would be the best way for me to proceed? Would I be able to take some of my required courses at a community college or would I have to go directly to a university? I am considering specializing in Pysiciatric Nursing. Any pros or cons in this area? The other question that keeps bothering me is my age. Would that be a problem for me getting hired? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Your age is not a problem, as long as you have the drive to succeed in this profession then age is just a number. You could try RN bridge programs. Community colleges may had different requirements so you need to check out which ones that you would consider for your nursing course. I wish you best of luck in your new endeavor.
