Medical missions??

I am very interested in doing medical missions for under served communities around the world. Does anybody know of or served on one before? How do you go about finding one? Which ones are reputable? Are most strictly volunteer and you pay your own way? If anybody has any info or advice they can share, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks!
