Hi this is my first post and I am thinking about a few areas for a change of career. About 10 yrs ago I had about 2 yrs nursing experience working in the ICU. I then went to work for an insurance company for many years and now thinking I want to be back in the hospital setting. I am interested in a staff nurse job in the OR, states only need 6 months experience in nursing preferred, not specific to OR. I have a few questions I hope you can answer.

1.) Is it possible to get a job in the OR after so long and if I do, will it be way too dificult to learn being in the insurance industry for so long.

2.)I remember the OR from nursing clinicals, way back when but I'm sure so much has changed. For an OR day shift what is a somewhat typical day like for you.

3.)I'm 44. Is that too old to try to get back in the clinical setting?
