Default Hello - Helping our Daughter become a Nurse

Hi from California. Have been reading here for a week or so and am still learning.
Thanks to you all for a great community.

My daughter is currently taking all of her Science and other pre-requisites for Cal State schools at the Community College. She is almost done.

She wants to be a Nurse. We want to help her. We are all learning about the career and the paths.
I read the excellent article here about the different levels of nursing (can't post the link yet)

The nursing programs in the Cal State schools are "Impacted". Meaning she can't get accepted in the foreseeable semesters. She has a very good/better then average, but not excellent academic record. We won't get her into a Nursing Program without here spending actually at least a year, likely a few years in the college waiting for spots to open... You have to be IN the scholl to get a slot in her academic situation apparently - She's not a 4.00'er.

I'm just looking for a practical path for her so that she gets to begin enjoying the career she wants so badly as soon as possible. Then at least she can follow the options and paths available.

We just started considering private schools in California.

Any advice that helps us understand the options and specifically the idea of a private school (any recommendations would be appreciated) would leave me deeply indebted to you all.

    Thank you
    James

Welcome to the site. Your daughter might want to consider Mt. Saint Mary's nursing program in Los Angeles if you can afford it.
