My advice...if you go in nursing for money...DON'T GO! But is your choice!

Running your carrier IN NURSING by money is the most big mistake that someone could do, because based on it you will be PRONE to do as much compromises and short cuts and messing ups in nursing ..JUST FOR MONEY.

Yup nurses could make A LOT of money in nursing , but for A LOT OF MONEY, that nurses play politics.

Think twice: WHO WILL PAY HIGH A NURSE, IF COULD NOT HAVE MUCH MORE HIGHER BACK? And after it you need to decide.

High salaries you will find in HIGH SKILLS areas: CRNA, NP, ICU, CCU, NICU....

Them are high risk areas if the departments are not managed well OR if your own skills are NOT ENOUGH developed.

More, how many positions with high paycheck do you think that are?

Anyone try to cut costs somehow. High paid departments usually has already them "own team" and pretty taugh to enter on or work partime, oncall.

Managerial positions are well paid also...think! WHY?

Because them are the one that REPRESENT the interes of corporations and are beetwen SHIT and GLORY, lol.
They need to make MONEY and keep the shit LOW PROFILE, could you do it...go for it! Good money!

NP...good money, working with MDs or alone and somentime working more with extended competencies, or in place where to pay a MD is too much, but to pay a 2 NPs is enough.

For me based on my life experinece at this time... a NP on underserved area working for POOR ONES is all that a nurse could do the best in her life!

But may be you like high hells instead of dusty boots and another one is you personal option lol.

Whatever you do...DON"T DO IT FOR MONEY , choose wise and do it from all your heart and what your heart tell you to do DO IT AND ENJOY!

A job made like a joy is the one that you will like it and you will be the best on it. Being the best you will have money!

And if what you love are MONEY ONLY, go for it, because you will not have any nightmares or bad consciousness making money in any how, from anyone, dosen't matter!

    Good luck!
The GOD is NOT money, but IS YOU OWN, and you are not neither for sell and neither for buy, but YOU ARE!

I say go for more education. If you can hack advanced degrees, you won't won't have to worry about pay. The pay will take care of itself. If you're smart enough to be a nurse anesthetist go for it and don't feel guilty about pocketing six figures. This money is well earned, which sets you apart from the business world for example where a lot of top jobs are gotten by lying on the resume (see the Yahoo CEO example).

With advanced education, you have more autonomy and more respect from your peers. But you have to do it for the love of learning and growing.

Just one word of caution: the nurse anesthetist program is a full time program. You have to quit your job and live off savings or loans until you're done with the program.
