Hospitals that Can Provide Male Only Staff For Operations on Male Patient?

What hospitals in the Midwest offer to provide MALE ONLY staff during operations, and a MALE ONLY nurse after a operation if such post operation...

What hospitals in the Midwest offer to provide MALE ONLY staff during operations, and a MALE ONLY nurse after a operation if such post operation nurse is needed? I am a male and will not be nude in front of female staff members! I will not discuss any problems with female staff members, especially male urology. They can't even provide a male to talk to on the phone.

Most of hospitals in a 250 mile or so radius are are owned or associated with a handful of hospital networks so they operate all the same. My local hospital got bought out by a larger hospital so I can't go there any more as they got rid of all the specialists and simply now refer them to a larger hospital in their network. And how does this specialist handle male urology - he has a female student walk in with him and start asking questions about by private parts. He didn't ask my permission to do this - he was more interested in impressing some young female nursing student than to give a shit about me. Good thing I was not nude otherwise he would been knocked on his ass.

I am NOT a FARM ANIMAL - I am a human being! Do all doctors have this God complex or what?

Question about what to say to a nurse

Hello all. Have a question about how to respond to my little sister. Long story short, she is an RN and last night she sent me a text saying that...

Hello all. Have a question about how to respond to my little sister. Long story short, she is an RN and last night she sent me a text saying that she had a code last night and the video I had shown her with Vinnie Jones showing how to do Hands Only CPR to the tune of Stayin Alive was running through her head. I responded back and asked her how the person was and if they made it ok. She responded "nah, it was awful".

First off can I tell you how proud I am of my sister? Being a nurse is just an amazing thing to me. My day at the office entails a project going well or an idea being launched. Her day is about helping people who really need help and at times saving their lives. I am just in awe of her and what she does every day.

So my question is how do I respond to her comment and what can I say that isn't going to sound hollow and trite or worse, annoying. Saying "I'm sorry I know you did the best you could" just sounds terrible but I can't think of anything else to say. I thought I would find a forum and ask a bunch of nurses to see what you all have to say. What kind of a response would you like to hear?

She is my little sis so I honestly really and truly want to just swoop in and take away everything bad and make everything good but the ability to do that for someone stops about the time that the worst thing in the world can be that you threw your toy out of your crib and someone hands it back to you.

Thank you

(Oh and I'm also in awe of all of you too. Whenever I've been in the hospital or had my husband in the hospital I go out of my way to say thank you to the nurses and follow their orders and generally try to not be the PITA patient/visitor. You all work so hard at what can be, at times, a very sucky job but I'm grateful that you are there and helping us out.)

My uncle (85) passed away this past February 2013 in a nursing home. One week after his death one of the nursing home activity aids' invited us out to the HM for a memorial on a Sunday. The aid was the only one from the NH who attended. She personally bought some inexpensive snacks for the event.

This particular aid continues to make contact with my aunt (83) who enjoys the special attention. I'm concerned regarding this relationship due to potential elder abuse (financial) etc.

Should this be reported to the NH administrator?

I was asked to train as a MA to do HCG follow ups and to do lab drawls and prepare
Injections to give when the pt comes in. My question is .. am I legally allowed to
administer testosterone injections without a physician or nurse practioner present
in the office. I have been preparing injectibles and then having to give them without
anyone even in the office . I have also given plenty of injections with them present
onsite too. I voiced that I was told by another coworker that this could be illegal and
that I felt uneasy not knowing if I were really allowed to be giving these injections.
They were offended I felt that way and then terminated me. I was let go by voicing my
opinion by asked..how can I find out if what I was doing is legal in my state of KY?
Any responces would help.
Thanks

Hi all,

I have a question that I hope someone can answer soon. I was hired for a registry job that gave me a TB test at their hospital. I am going to get it read today (it's negative). I also have been hired at another facility that requires TB tests. I told them that I just received a test but they said that I must have another one done by their outside facility. Is it safe to get back to back tests done? I have tried looking online but can't find a sufficient answer. I read that you must wait for at least 2 weeks before another one can be performed. Can anyone help?

In California there is implied consent for treatment in hospitals. I'm not sure if this covers administration of vaccines to mentally incompetent/unconscious adult patients. CDC website states "federally" no informed consent necessary. But must give VIS (vaccine information sheet). Also not sure how to give a VIS if patient can't (not awake) to recieve it. Any thoughts? Enlightenment?

Electronic health records (EHRs) are thought to improve quality of care, reduce the risk of medical errors, and improve practice efficiency. Although most governments have set a goal for widespread adoption of EHRs in medical practices within these ten years, little is known about the penetration of EHRs into primary care.

There are numerous barriers to the adoption of EHRs, including costs, lack of standards and interoperability with existing systems, and privacy concerns. Provider knowledge and attitudes regarding EHRs, including perception of the benefit of EHRs, may also influence adoption.

So, as an health professional, what's your opinion about using electronic health record to replace paper-based health record? Do you think it will benefit to all people?
