He has numerous medical issues but I want to focus on his Gastroparesis and GERD. I vent him 4-5... I am a home health nurse with a complex patient. He has numerous medical issues but I want to focus on his Gastroparesis and GERD. I vent him 4-5 times a day and before bed. However, since he has intermittent motility, his vents become very acidic. I vent anything from dark green to straw yellow in ONE day. He is already on Prevacid and he's been on Carafate but it tends to bind with his 24 hour feed. He has alot of pain and GI discomfort when his vents are acidic and I was wondering if there is another medication out there I am not familiar with that could help control his pain and acid build up?
