Hello,
I'm currently an EMT-B who passed my Paramedic class but havn't passed National Registry to be a Paramedic (only took it once... the day before my wedding. Smart one huh?)

Mid way throught Paramedic class I'm thinking "wow i'm REALLY tired of EMS already". I've only been an EMT for 3 years but i'm so tired of it. All but one of my local agencies are now doing transports. The place I spent most of my "career" is now doing A LOT of out of town transports and I can't stand it. I HATE long trips and it drives me nuts seeing them take ambulances that are in the county to do 911 calls and sending them out of town/state to take someone to a nursing home or another hospital for continue care.
And my back is now dead since I worked in one of the most "plump" cities in the US. yay...

Enough of the complaining.... I obviously will get my medic card but will probably only do it part time. As my love for it has faded, big time. Unfortunatly wonderful West Virginia doesn't have the EMT-P to RN bridge :( so i'll have to start all over.... more clinicals :(

BUT I don't know if I want to be an RN. I wouldn't mind being a Rad Tech. Maybe Nurse Anesitist (yea I really can't spell and can hardly say that word.) But I know I have to be an RN first for the Nurse Anesitist..

Rad Tech I have to do what first??
I've tried to search online but a lot of the "colleges" want too much info up front from me. I don't want to be bugged to join a college.

I lost my mind and quit my job in EMS and am now just working part time as a dispatcher and supposably EMS. i've been applying for jobs as medical assistant since I would really enjoy working in a DR office. Love the hours too lol I mean it's nice working 24 hour shifts and having more days off but I really miss my own bed.

So to sum up my rambling.. I need help deciding which career to go for. I'd like to stay in a DR office setting. I have to work full time as well as go to school. I have no idea where to start.

ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports:

What does it take to get a wavering senator to vote for health care reform?

Here’s a case study.

On page 432 of the Reid bill, there is a section increasing federal Medicaid subsidies for “certain states recovering from a major disaster.”

The section spends two pages defining which “states” would qualify, saying, among other things, that it would be states that “during the preceding 7 fiscal years” have been declared a “major disaster area.”

I am told the section applies to exactly one state: Louisiana, the home of moderate Democrat Mary Landrieu, who has been playing hard to get on the health care bill.
In other words, the bill spends two pages describing would could be written with a single world: Louisiana. (This may also help explain why the bill is long.)

Senator Harry Reid, who drafted the bill, cannot pass it without the support of Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu.

How much does it cost? According to the Congressional Budget Office: $100 million.
Here’s the incredibly complicated language:

Read on if you feel adventurous. http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/200...care-vote.html

Fair and impartial?????

Fox News again accused of airing misleading video

For the second time in just over a week, Fox News is coming under fire for misusing old news footage. The latest flap is leading some people to charge that the cable news network is intentionally misleading its audience, while Fox claims a "production error."

Wednesday's incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrett mentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout. As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is "continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand-new book,'' adding that the images being shown were "some of the pictures just coming in to us.... The lines earlier had formed this morning."

However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally. In response to the minor uproar that arose after clips of Jarrett's report hit the Internet, Fox senior vice-president of news Michael Clemente issued an initial statement saying, "This was a production error in which the copy editor changed a script and didn't alert the control room to update the video."

On Thursday afternoon, Fox News issued an on-air apology delivered by host Jane Skinner:

Yesterday we told you about Sarah Palin kicking off her book tour and then we spoke to Sean Hannity about an interview that he did with former Governor Palin. When introducing the segment we showed you footage of people lining up in Michigan for a book signing that evening. In the tease before the segment, the tease to commercial, we told you how those people were already lining up to meet Palin. The problem is we didn't show you the video we were actually referencing. Instead we mistakenly aired what's called "file tape" of Sarah Palin. We didn't mean to mislead anybody in that tease. It was a mistake, and for that we apologize.

The current mishap comes on the heels of a controversy sparked last week when footage from a conservative rally held over the summer was played on "Hannity" during a segment on a more recent rally. During the clip, host Sean Hannity marveled over the large turnout for a Washington, DC protest. The Daily Show later pointed out that there seemed to be some inconsistencies with the video shown on Hannity's show, namely that the atmospheric conditions seemed to vary from shot to shot. Hannity later apologized on the air for what he called "an inadvertent mistake."

I'm a brand new nurse with a California license but living in Florida. The problem I'm having is that I'm only going to live in Florida for another 4-5 months then I move to California. My new Fiance is stationed there but I need a job... yesterday! I cant keep waiting because my bills are piling up and I dont have enough money to endorse my license to Florida. I've applied at the VA hospital which is about the only place I've seen that takes every state license but they are taking so long. What do I do? Are there any other companies out there that dont require the specific state license? Please please please help. :-(
