Socialism

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read, "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant, I noticed my server was wearing an "Obama '08" button, and I found this coincidence amusing.

When the bill came, I decided not to tip the server. I explained to him that I was exploring the Obama concept of wealth redistribution. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone whom I deemed more in need; the homeless guy outside. The server stormed angrily from my table.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 bucks, and told him to thank the server inside as I decided he could use the money more than the server. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment, I realized that while the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, the server was opposingly very angry that I gave away money that he did earn...even though they were both going to vote for a president who would've done the same thing; take money away from someone who earned it, and give it to someone who didn't deserve it.

I guess redistribution of wealth is easier to swallow as a concept than in actual application.

Misleading....you may want to read Marx and his works about Socialism. It is not about taking from someone who earned and giving to those who did not deserve. There is more to it. It is about being a human being ....there is much, much more to it. Please do not try confuse nurses here. Many are educated and people do understand.
