The Chronicles of a Nursing Student.

I have decided to post a blog of my adventures through my upcoming year of nursing school. I am currently a LPN trying to bridge to RN. Everyone knows of the economy and the shortage of jobs out there. I have my license, however I am unable to find a career. I have had small jobs here and there, but nothing that is full-time. I have always known I was going to take classes to bridge. Ever since that first day of PN school, I told people I am not stopping. So Orientation to the Transition to RN program is tomorrow. I am super excited. I have been working as a bartender to make ends meet. This job has taught me is patience, time management, and better people skills. I have stayed with the same company for four years. I know that I do not want to serve table or mix drinks all my life. It gives me the drive to stay up late, get up early, and drive a little farther everyday. It puts in my stubborn head that I will not stop till I have my degree and my name on the registry as a nurse. I have considered to change my career choice. But I not only NEED to do this I WANT to do this. I am excited to get school started. I am finishing two classes right now online when I am not working. It stretches me a bit, however I do manage. I plan on reducing my hours at work, and increasing the time I have to study. As soon as I find out the details, my managers will have my perminate schedule in their hands. I know nursing school is stressful and full of times that make one want to quit. That is why I came to this website to seek some encouragement and friendship from fellow nurses. Please help me out!
