A RN with an incredible $50K (plus) debt to carry around on my back for who knows how long. That’s if I get through the program and not end up like so many others who are dropping back from class to class, only to pay more money.

Yes, I was there and I took the bait. I lost time and money all because I could not wait out a seat in one of our other nursing schools in RI. It was not the academics or curriculum; rather, it was the insane, unethical antics of the program’s staff and director. The atmosphere of this program is really, really weird. I was shocked at what I saw and experienced. Some of the professors in this program are perhaps good nurses, but insofar as professors, they are bullies.

NEIT’s marketing and recruitment department does an excellent job at bringing students into this program, but have a look at how many actually make it out, with that fifty thousand dollar degree. It has gotten so bad, that they had to merge two classes together because both classes were down from twenty people to a mere five to seven. Huh?
I do think this school has potential to produce RN’s but it will take a regime change within, starting with the director. There will be those very few who have gotten through the program which will call my post “sour Grapes”, and counter it with pseudo-praise, but if I can make people at least consider other options, than I have done my little bit to help out a fellow nursing student. Do your research from all angles before you jump into this program.

I graduated from BSN school 26 years ago. I agree, its a big risk to take on that debt and not be guaranteed passing the program or find a job after passing the bre slim out there. Hospital or acute care is virtually impossible to break into. Jobs are extremely slim, I met 2 graduated nurses that are RN's and not working due to not finding a job. Yikes! I wish you all the best in your decision.
