Relocating to Chicago

Rate this Entry
Hi,

I am from Tucson, AZ and I am relocating to Chicago next month. I am applying to different hospital but I really don't have any other information than the one offered on their websites. Can anybody give any insight about the different Hospitals in the city?

Thanks,

Laura

    Hi Laura

I'm from Chicago. There are alot of hospitals here. It depends on your specialty and what type of hospital you want to work for. Location and travel times to and from work are really important here. I'm not sure if this helped. Its hard to answer your question because Chicago is a very big city with alot of hospitals in nearby suburbs. If you need help, just ask.

I WOULD SUGGEST INTERVIEWING ALL OVER. Most hospitals in the city are very diverse. What town will you be living in exactly. there are lots of really nice hospitals in the suburbs, where patient care and comfort (almost to the point of over catering) are still a priority.

    Thank you Tracie and Debra.

I am interested in working at Northwestern Memorial. Any positive or negative comment about it?

    Hi Laura,

I have never worked at Nortwestern but I have a friend that does. She has worked there for many years. Northwestern is a big hospital in downtown Chicago. Make sure you find out about parking rates because it could get expensive parking downtown. Good Luck!!
