Drumroll please..... We are adding Memorial Forum and St. Luke's Lakeside in North Houston to our clinical affiliations. I am so proud to see how our hard work over the years has established the kind of reputation that healthcare facilities can trust in us. A good attitude and hard work still go a long way more so in this ...

  7. Nursing Direction: Where is your state going?

I heard an interesting statement recently. The direction you're facing is more important that where you are in the journey. I think this applies especially to the healthcare crisis that we are all facing. I am proud to say that Texas has taken a leap to the front of the class with several new developments. One: The development of a Nurse Advocate role to educate and assist nurses in Peer Review Process, Safe Harbor, Staffing options, etc. House Bill 575 has the support of not only the Texas Nurses ...
  8. I’m a nurse wherever I go and I’m okay with it! Don’t understand why I am never off?

I have a friend who told me about 2 weeks ago that she was having these weird symptoms. So, of course I bite and say what’s going on. She proceeds to tell me about a heating sensation starting at her foot, moving up her leg, trunk of her body and arm. States it had happened twice and she could time it. Then, on the third occasion she had the same symptoms but, also a prickling, pin and needle like sensation. So, I proceed to ask about other symptoms and history and tell her this sounds neurological ...

  9. Back from Vacation Did Parasailing, Belly Dancing, Scrabble, Jazz, etc

    Hey each and every nurse,
Stop and go on vacation. I feel so revived. I rested in Cabana #8 on Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, parasailed in St. Thomas, rode a catamaran in Nassau. Ate too much & stayed up too late. Only got 1 and 1/2 of my 7 books read. Played a game of Scrabble with a celebrity wife. She beat the pants off me and I love Scrabble. I took Belly Dancing lessons, got a tan, took a holistic cooking class and jammed to the smooth jazz of Boney James, Richard Elliot, Jonathan ...
