Drumroll please..... We are adding Memorial Forum and St. Luke's Lakeside in North Houston to our clinical affiliations. I am so proud to see how our hard work over the years has established the kind of reputation that healthcare facilities can trust in us. Job market is tougher so more clinical sites means morepotential job opportunites as well. Now, we are doing our part. It is up to each indvidual nurse to get out their and shine. A good attitude and hard work still go a long way more so in this

Two, I am back in school my self and had a heavy semester load, it is going well and I anticipate completing my MSN by June at the latest. Third, new grandbaby on way and daughter in law having Gestational Diabetes and we have had to completly revamp our cooking and eating program to get this

In-active Nurses, Nurse Refreshers and all active Nurses: Please email, call, or mail your local representative to vote for HB 575 which adds Patient Advocacy Protections for Nurses. One of the things this bill will do is create the role of a Nurse Advocate. This is a much needed role in all the facilities. This person will be educated and certifed by TNA to go back to the hospitals and educate and assist nurses with knowing their options like when to invoke Safe Harbor, the process for doing Safe

I heard an interesting statement recently. The direction you're facing is more important that where you are in the journey. I think this applies especially to the healthcare crisis that we are all facing. I am proud to say that Texas has taken a leap to the front of the class with several new developments. One: The development of a Nurse Advocate role to educate and assist nurses in Peer Review Process, Safe Harbor, Staffing options, etc. House Bill 575 has the support of not only the Texas Nurses
I have a friend who told me about 2 weeks ago that she was having these weird symptoms. So, of course I bite and say whatís going on. She proceeds to tell me about a heating sensation starting at her foot, moving up her leg, trunk of her body and arm. States it had happened twice and she could time it. Then, on the third occasion she had the same symptoms but, also a prickling, pin and needle like sensation. So, I proceed to ask about other symptoms and history and tell her this sounds neurological
Hey each and every nurse,
Stop and go on vacation. I feel so revived. I rested in Cabana #8 on Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, parasailed in St. Thomas, rode a catamaran in Nassau. Ate too much & stayed up too late. Only got 1 and 1/2 of my 7 books read. Played a game of Scrabble with a celebrity wife. She beat the pants off me and I love Scrabble. I took Belly Dancing lessons, got a tan, took a holistic cooking class and jammed to the smooth jazz of Boney James, Richard Elliot, Jonathan
Well after no time off since Surgery 18 months ago, I am finally going on vacation. The entire office will be closed for Winter Break 1/22-1/31/11. We have never all taken off since we started 9 years ago. It has been a long road organizing a successful business and I am grateful for the great instructors and support staff who have sewed into the Nurse Refresher Program and my vision of educating and empowering former nurses and creating a venue for them to make a return to competent practice.
Sorry to see Jackie McCourt go from Presbyterian Plano Medical Center. Thanks for all you have done to assist our Nurse Refreshers in our 3 years of working together. I know we will all miss you but, I am glad you are getting an opportunity to go back home. Family is important.
We appreciate you!
Well I am so happy that the hard work is paying off. Another, new clinical site: St. Michael Medical Center Texarkana approved us for preceptorships. We thank you on behalf of our Nurse Refreshers in Texas. First one up, Dan O. RN. Have a great time returning to practice.
Welcome Elijah Maxwell 6 lbs 8oz and 20 inches.
I am so excited. We received the official okay for Seaton Medical Center in Austin, TX. Yeah, more nurses can get there clinicals in and return to competent practice.
Kudos to Seaton!
The Texas Register has published new rules that have pending effective dates. All nurse refreshers at some point soon will have to take a Nursing Jurisprudence open book online exam through the Texas BON. Our nursing jurisprudence class will prepare you so, don't worry. Just another hoop to jump through. The new grads and endorsing nurses already do it.
